Lion Under the Rainbow, Contemporary Art from Tehran (2008)
When I was in Iran in 2005-06 on my way to India, I spent two months and a half in the country and was amazed by the complexity, sophistication and hospitality, I made many friends and noticed how diverse and rich visual arts were in Tehran, I realised no one knows anything about it. I went back in 2007 to do a personal research of the contemporary art scene in Tehran with the idea to bring their works in Athens. I discovered a very alive and engaging art scene and selected 19 artists whose works we exhibited in Athens, at a building that I selected especially for the show on Aiolou street. Somehow I feel this show was my best work so far.
